Sixth Grade Rotation TWO
Our first project was the study of color theory, however slightly different from first rotation. I added the additional challenge of taking their 2D tessellated designs and showed the students how to make 3D forms - Quite the task, but very well done! :-)
PROJECT 2
Wouldn't you just love to know the story behind this picture?
I supplied students with photographs that I took, to use as "wallpaper" to hang selected cut-out magazine pictures that "fit" within the space of the photograph, so that a surreal new picture could be achieved. Students learned about perspective as they placed magazine cut-out images in the foreground, middle ground and background of the "wallpaper".
Students started this project two weeks before let out for break and continued the search once they returned, however, due to the days missed because of the polar vortex, momentum was lost and some of the stories went awry. Still for those that kept the focus the results are rather interesting.
The last eight slides showcase students who have been invited to participate in an upcoming art show for the eighth graders. Look for details on the events page.
