Eighth Grade Rotation TWO
Eighth Graders have so many skills to work with; so I give them the freedom to break from traditional "rote" art and encourage them to produce art that is more reflective of their thought process. I support their decisions to think critically and to analyze the various art materials. I want them to determine what is the best material for expression. The process is sometimes more important than the product in the end. This first project was a self-portrait. Students had to find what materials best expressed their characters and then write essays about their portraits.
PROJECT TWO: A Study in Perspective
During the past four weeks students had the opportunity to create a scene where they then chose items to "pop-out" that would fit into their foreground, middle ground and background.
